The editorial rule
Every threshold on this site carries the law or decree that sets it and the date it was last read. Where sources conflict, the conflict gets published. Where we cannot verify something, it stays out of the table rather than going in with a hedge.
How this is paid for
Introductions. If you decide Colombia is the answer, we introduce you to an immigration lawyer and, if you want one, a broker who has closed for foreign buyers before. We are compensated by those professionals for the introduction, and we tell you at the point of introduction. There are no affiliate links in the research.
What we are not
Not a law firm. Not an immigration consultancy. Not licensed to advise in any jurisdiction, including Colombia. We do not file applications, we do not hold client money and we do not sell property.
Why Colombia gets more space than the rest
Because the publisher lives there, buys there and can check things in person, and because it is currently the best value property linked residency in the Americas for someone who intends to actually live somewhere. Both of those are stated plainly rather than dressed up as neutrality.
